As the Lead Developer and CTO at fizy.com, I played a pivotal role in the development and success of one of the region’s most innovative music streaming platforms. fizy.com is a digital music streaming service that provides users with instant access to millions of songs and curated playlists. It is designed to bring music closer to people’s lives, enabling them to discover and enjoy their favorite tunes effortlessly.

The platform stood out with its curated playlists, intelligent music search capabilities, and uninterrupted playback experience, ensuring music lovers could personalize their listening journey. By offering an intuitive, user-friendly interface and seamless cross-device synchronization, fizy.com set itself apart as a leader in the competitive streaming industry.

fizy.com quickly rose to prominence, becoming a household name in the digital entertainment space. With over 4 million registered members and an impressive 700,000 daily unique visitors, it became a cornerstone of the music streaming ecosystem in its region. This success was underpinned by a relentless focus on scalability, user-centric design, and data-driven innovation.

Our efforts were recognized on a global stage, earning prestigious accolades such as the Golden Spider Award for excellence in technology and digital services and the Mashable Award, highlighting fizy.com’s cultural impact and technical achievement. These awards cemented its reputation as a trailblazer in online entertainment.

  • Built the platform from scratch and managed the entire server infrastructure, ensuring seamless scalability and performance for a service with over 4 million members and 700k daily unique visitors.

Technologies Used

  • Programming Languages: Development was primarily done using PHP, Python, and JavaScript, incorporating libraries like jQuery and Mootools to craft a dynamic, responsive, and user-friendly interface.
  • Servers: The platform was hosted on a combination of Debian GNU/Linux and CentOS, utilizing Apache2, Nginx, and the Tornado WebServer Framework to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Databases: I implemented a hybrid database strategy, utilizing MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to handle diverse data needs, from relational data to scalable document storage.
  • Tools and Protocols: Development and collaboration were streamlined with tools like JSON for data exchange, cURL for efficient API interactions, and version control systems SVN and Git, which facilitated team coordination and codebase integrity.
